Getting motor trade journalists behind the wheel during lockdown at the Toyota Press Garage
In a pre-Covid world journalists were flown to overseas press launches. In a Covid world, everything had to be adapted at XPAuto to allow safe press launches to continue and follow Government guidelines.
BRIEF
Helen from GH Safety (Ltd) was appointed to deliver the Event Safety Plan and Risk Assessment for the press launches of Toyota's new vehicles. XPAuto/Toyota GB had to be fully compliant with Government Guidance to enable the events to take place.
It was also vital that control measures ensured journalists were able to experience the vehicles in the right conditions without putting anyone’s health at risk.
OUTCOME
Journalist’s feedback was extremely positive and they praised the safety aspects. From GH Safety's Event Safety Plan and Risk Assessment six launches were able to take place.
BENEFITS
With local events taking place in hybrid and EV vehicles, it was also an environmental benefit.
